On Tuesday (23rd), the Global Poker Awards announced the finalists for the 16 categories of the fifth edition of the awards, with the winners announced on the PokerGO broadcast on February 24th.

Voting is open to fans in four categories: Best Hand, Person of the Year, Best Stream and Best Trophy. Votes for these categories will be counted until January 31

One of the most interesting categories is “Strongest Opponent”, chosen by the player. There are four nominees this year: Stephen Chidwick, Alex Fox, Isaac Haxton and Jason Queen. As for Breakout Player, the award will be given to an up-and-coming player in 2023, with contenders being Jans Arends, William Kopp, Samuel Raskowitz and Santosh Suvarna.

No players from the Brazilian team were nominated. However, the Brazilian Poker Series will compete with the WSOP Circuit, WPT Prime and RUNGOOD Poker Series for the Best Mid-level Tour award in each category of this year’s Global Poker Awards.
